Andøy Municipality is famous for whale safari expansive moors, white beaches, craggy mountains, the midnight sun, northern lights, Fisheries and space research. Good flight connections with Widerøe and Norwegian enables you to arrive Andøy quickly and comfortably. The airport is located near the center of Andenes. Shipping company Hurtigruten has a service from and to Risøyhamn twice a day. In summer there are daily ferry connection between Andenes and Gryllefjord on Senja. Charming Andenes is an old fishing village of the really good old kind, and with us you can choose accommodation in a typical North-Norwegian fisherman-farmer environment in refur-bished buildings from the 1800s. You can admire the seabird colony on the island of Bleiksøya, west of the village of Bleik – with good stocks of Puffins, Kittiwakes, Razorbills, Guillemots, Fulmars, European Storm Petrel, Shags and Sea Eagles. You can also play golf in spectacular settings near the Bleik beach with its 2.5 km – one of the longest sandy beaches in Norway.

Catch your own dinner straight up from the sea, or go on an exciting Sea Safari with the opportunity to experience whales from RIB boats – an experience you will never forget! We have the lighthouse – one of the country's tallest cast iron towers - 40 feet! HISNAKUL, great museums, art galleries and, not least pleasant people and places to eat. We encourage our visitors to travel along the west side of Andøy on the way to or from Andenes. National Tourist Route Andøya runs along the outer edge of Andøya island, and offers a magnificent view of white sandy beaches, cragged peaks and the wide expanse of the ocean. The drive over Andøya island is characterised by an impression of wide marshes, with mountain peaks rising abruptly to 700 metres above sea level. For those who prefer to experience nature on their own, we recommend trout and char fishing in the mountain lakes, salmon fishing in nearby rivers, scuba diving, bicycle outings and hiking.
