I was born in 1974 and grew up in Mysen, a small inland town in South East Norway. Today I live in a coastal village by the Oslo Fjord, Larkollen, with my husband, our two daughters, two dogs and a cat.
After briefly attending an art academy in Denmark, I chose to pursue a more theoretical path – and in 2003 I completed my Masters Degree in the History of Fine Arts. In between my teaching, journalism- and museum work, I have continued to dabble with drawing and painting. My second solo exhibition was put together whilst being at home on maternity leave. As of October 2015 I made the decision to make the leap. I am no longer a teacher, a journalist or a museum worker. I am a painter. Workshop in Dorset, UK.

Some years ago, in 2008, I had an exhibition in Northern Norway - at Andøya. The nature and birdlife there are spectacular and I created some paintings of eagles and puffins in their natural habitat. Since then, the puffins have sadly made it to the Norsk rødliste for arter 2015, modeled after The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. In the RED LIST series, I strictly concentrat on birds that are on this list. My string of thought goes something like this:
First birds
Then illustrations of birds. Also.
Then illustrations of birds. Only.
In my paintings, the last birds are literally relegated to the ornithological literature.
